In a bid to limit crime and fraud the Kenyan government has rolled out a new cohort of number plates with inbuilt security features that allows tracing of cars by law enforcement organizations.
Overseen by the Interior Cabinet Secretary ,the tuesday morning event hosted a dozen of CSs among them Joe Mucheru (ICT) and James Macharia (Transport).
Speaking at the event CS Fred Matiang'i said the digital plates shall be fixed on all imported vehicles at the entry point and they will be coincided with the Taxman KRA systems as move to curb tax evasion.
Kenyans will need Sh3,000 to change the old plates to new digital plates.
