The daughter of former Mt Elgon member of Parliament John Serut has appealed to Kenyans to help the family cater for the rising medical bills of his father.
On Teusday 12th October 2021, Mish took to her twitter account saying that the family has tried to handle their father's medical bills, but they need more help as the bills are almost getting out of hand.
"Hey guys, so a lot of you don't know me but I'm here requesting your help today. My father's name is John Serut and he's been unwell for a while now. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in January of 2020. Since then, we've had medical bills totalling about KSh 20 million," Mish said.
Serut, who represented the constituency in Bungoma county for two terms, has been sick for almost two years now. In January 2020, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a type of blood cancer that affects critical body organs like the liver, kidneys and bones) .
He first joined the parliament in 2002 using KANU ticket before losing the seat in 2007. However, he regained his power once again 2013 before losing it again in 2017 when he vied on a Jubilee Party ticket.
